Living the Farm Sanctuary Life: The Ultimate Guide to Eating Mindfully, Living Longer, and Feeling Better Every Day

Gene Baur, the cofounder and president of Farm Sanctuary, the nation's leading farm animal protection organization, knows that the key to happiness lies in aligning your beliefs with your actions. In this definitive vegan and animal-friendly lifestyle guide, he and Gene Stone, author of Forks Over Knives, explore the deeply transformative experience of visiting the sanctuary and its profound effects on people's lives. The book covers the basic tenets of Farm Sanctuary life—such as eating in harmony with your values, connecting with nature wherever you are, and reducing stress—and offers readers simple ways to incorporate these principles into their lives.

Farm Sanctuary: Changing Hearts and Minds About Animals and Food

In Farm Sanctuary, Gene Baur provides a thought provoking investigation of the ethical questions involved in the production of beef, poultry, pork, milk, and eggs -- and what each of us can do to stop the mistreatment of farm animals and promote compassion. He details the triumphs and the disappointments of more than twenty years on the front lines of the animal protection movement. And he introduces sanctuary. us to some of the special creatures who live at Farm Sanctuary -- from Maya the cow to Marmalade the chicken -- all of whom escaped horrible circumstances to live happier, more peaceful lives. Farm Sanctuary shows how all of us have an opportunity and a responsibility to consume a kinder plate, making a better life for ourselves and animals as well.

The Lucky Ones: My Passionate Fight for Farm Animals

Jenny Brown lost her leg to cancer as a child, and became close with her cat Boogie as she healed. That process helped her see the connection between all animals, and become an advocate for farmed animals. She founded Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary with her husband Doug Abel in 2004. This book documents her journey, with lots of quirky stories and inspiration.
