The Vegan Bus is going to Wildfire! by vegan busdriver

The Vegan Bus jumps through a ring of fire

WildFire is the East Coast's premier spinning and fire arts training camp. The Vegan Bus is putting together a Vegan Circus to tour with, and so Wildfire seems like the perfect event to make an appearance at with the bus. We will be traveling from Northampton, MA to Ashford, CT and hope to pick up some wayward fire dancers on the way.

We will be leaving on Friday, August 20th and returning on Monday, August 23rd. To help fund the Vegan Bus Project we are asking for a suggested donation of $30 for the round trip, or $20 for one way. If there is interest we can swing through Hartford, CT or other areas that are slightly off of the route. We can also pick people up from the Hartford Airport. Once we know who is interested we will post a more specific schedule for the trip.

The making of the Supreme Master TV Vegan Bus Video by vegan busdriver

Photos by Derek Goodwin

Last October Supreme Master Television visited us to make a mini documentary. We gave them a tour of the bus and took them on a trip to the Ashfield Fall Festival to hand out vegan doughnuts and propaganda. The bus was decorated for Halloween, and some of us were dressed up, too. We were hoping to inject surrealism into the spiritual message we knew we would become a part of. It's all a great mystery, after all.

The finished product, On the Road to Love: The Journey of The Vegan Bus, is debuting on July 25th at 4am, 10am, 4pm, and 10pm EST as part of the Good People Good Works series. The series "celebrates modern day heroes who help others and strives for the altruistic ideals to better society." That sounds like us, we thinks.

The show can be viewed on the web or on one of the 14 satellite television feeds distributed around the world in 40 languages with subtitles. We are about to become international superstars! Perhaps it will also be playing at the Loving Hut restaurant in Worcester, MA?

4th of July Vegan Bus in Philadelphia! by vegan busdriver

The Vegan Bus will be heading to Philadelphia this Fourth of July for our first road trip of the summer. We are teaming up with two different Philadelphia groups, Public Eye: Artists for Animals and Vegan Drinks Philly, to put on two very different events. During the day we will be in Clark Park with Public Eye's Kid's Club to have a vegan barbeque along with kids activities that teach compassion. The second event will be for adults, as we meet up with Vegan Drinks at the New Harmony Vegan Restaurant

Kids Club Vegan Barbeque July 4th from 11:00am-3:00pm

Join the Vegan Bus and Public Eye: Artists for Animals for a down-home vegan BBQ with hula hoops, lawn games, musical instruments, and art projects. The Bus will park at Clark Park, a lovely setting in University City with trees and a playground. Please bring a vegan/vegetarian picnic lunch, blanket/lawn chairs, and drinks for your family. We will provide additional items (veggie dogs, burgers, etc.) for the BBQ! Friendly dogs are welcome at Clark Park.

Thanks to Lightlife for donating 96 vegan burgers to us for the event! Coincidentally, 96 is the number of animals one person can save each year by going vegan... Lightlife's headquarters are in Turners Falls Massachusetts, only about 1/2 hour from the home of the Vegan Bus!

Vegan Drinks 4th of July Extravaganzaa from 6:00pm-11:00pm

The Vegan Bus will be meeting up with Vegan Drinks Philly at the New Harmony Vegetarian Restaurant for a vegan dim sum feast along with BYOB drinks. The event costs $20 and a portion of the proceeds will go to The Vegan Bus and Public Eye: Artists for Animals. The restaurant is a short walk from great spots to view fireworks, and the bus will be parked nearby for the bus-curious.

The Vegan Bus and Shokazoba in NYC Walk for Farm Animals by vegan busdriver

On Sunday Sept 28, 2008 the Vegan Bus took our local Afrobeat band Shokazoba to NYC for the 2008 Farm Sanctuary "Walk For Farm Animals". Although the band only got to play one song due to rain, fun was had by all, as you can see from these photos...

Other entertainment and speakers included Princess Superstar, vegan iron man Brendan Brazier, Senator Liz Kreuger, Mercy for Animals Director of Campaigns Freeman Wicklund, Farm Sanctuary Executive Director Jeff Lydon, and indie songstress Bess Rogers.
