In the last month I have had the privilege of taking photos for Peta two times, creating images of the ladies and gentlemen who are working for a more compassionate world.

The first job was on July 10th at the opening of the Brave Gentleman store in Brooklyn. The all-vegan men's clothing store was founded by Joshua Katcher, who also started the first men’s ethical lifestyle website, The Discerning Brute in 2008. Most of their clothing is made in New York City's historic garment district using Brazilian future-wool tweeds and twills made from recycled cotton and recycled polyester, and velvety Turkish future-silk made from recycled water bottles. Their footwear and accessories are constructed in Italian future-leather - a durable, weather resistant, hi-tech microfiber that is EU-Ecolabel Certified.

Although the shop opened for business towards the end of 2016, Peta helped them coordinate a more public opening to coincide with New York Fashion Week. I was having Zoolander flashbacks as I photographed the sexy and young male models wearing Joshua's hip designs. Also on hand my friend Gabriel Heymann was giving out bottles of his Smart Beer, and amazing finger foods were provided by Mina Di Miusius of Taste of Vegan.

The second fun photo shoot was with Peta's infamous Lettuce Ladies, who were leaving from JFK Airport for a tour of Russia and some other eastern bloc countries on August 5th. I met up with the two beautiful ambassadors of vegetation at Terminal One, wearing their iconic leafy bikinis and displaying signs that proclaimed, “Turn Over a New Leaf: Go Vegan” (in English) and “Start Fresh: Choose Veganism” (in Russian).
